Below you will find a quick introduction to our club:
When are the new books announced and how?
The books for the upcoming month will likely be announced within the last week of the current month. They will be posted in a blog that includes the titles, where to get them, and a summary. You'll receive a monthly newsletter in your e-mail reminding you to check the post as well as with any announcements.
Where and when will we talk about the books?
The last weekend of the month will be when the discussion board opens up for that month's books. The exact date will be included in the newsletter too. The discussion board is located in the "FORUM" section of the website. It's password protected; the password was sent to you in your Welcome e-mail. You can always contact me if you have trouble accessing it. We also encourage people who are local to each other to meet up and talk about the books in person, though the scheduling of this is up to you. Just remember to bring the discussion back to the online forum so everyone can be involved!
What if I don't like the book choices this month/what if I don't have time to participate?
The cool thing about it being an online book club is that, while we encourage you to give new books a try every month, you don't have to participate every single month to still be a member. If you don't think you will enjoy the books we are reading or you just don't have time, that's okay. Check back next month. You can also still participate in the other discussions.
Can I recommend books?
We strongly encourage it! In fact, there will be monthly "suggestion box" for the upcoming month's picks located in the forum.
I have a favorite book that really impacted me. Can I share that?
Yes. You can submit a book to the "Our Favorite"'s page by sending us an e-mail. Just make sure you include the title and author, your name, and a tidbit of why that story is your favorite. You can also include a photo of yourself to be inluded in the post.
I want to be a featured writer!
Shoot us an e-mail with a your name, a photo of yourself, a summary of whatever you're writing, and a sample (think less than 300 words) of whatever it is you are writing. You can also include a link or information on where to read more!
Okay, but how did you come up with the name?
You can thank my awesome friend Robbie for that one- as well as the tag line. Sorry, ladies, he is currently off the market.
Who runs the club?
Mostly Tori (whaddup third person?), but likely contributors to the site and club are Robbie and Larissa. It's a community event, so any and all posts will be marked by author.
